The Serengeti is one of Africa’s best safari spots, known for its amazing wildlife. You can see the famous Big Five animals: elephants, lions, buffaloes, rhinos, and leopards. There are also giraffes, hippos, crocodiles, and many other animals. The park is famous for the Great Migration of wildebeests and zebras. With over 70 types of large animals and 500 types of birds, the Serengeti is a must-see place.

Along with the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and Mount Kilimanjaro, the Serengeti National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage site.

Where is the Serengeti National Park located?

Is the Serengeti in Kenya or Tanzania? This question is often asked by travelers visiting East Africa. The answer is simple: Serengeti National Park is in northern Tanzania, covering over 1,500,000 hectares (3,700,000 acres) of wild savanna. You can easily find it on the map, east of Lake Victoria and near the Kenyan border.

To the north, the Serengeti borders Kenya’s Maasai Mara National Reserve. To the east, it borders the famous Ngorongoro Crater and Conservation Area. The larger Serengeti ecosystem extends beyond the national park and includes the area covered by the Great Migration.
